Josephine Baker Biography
// ]]>
This is where it all started. This black goddess also known as “The Black Pearl” or “The Dancing Banana” is a star amongst stars. What this lady has gone through to become famous is significant. At a young age, Josephine lived on the streets, she was poor and for that reason had to struggle to survive. She could dance very well and she used that as her tool to earn money or food. At some point in her life someone saw her dancing skills and asked her if she wanted to perform in the Vaudeville theather. She moved to NY and debuted on Broadway in the early twenties. Jospehine was born in the USA but moved to France in a later period. She became an sensation in America and Europe. She was new, fresh, sensual and exotic and the world knew who she was. In the early fifties a famous clubowner asked her to dance in one of his clubs and theathers but she refused to do so. They were racists, black and white people were not treated equally. For that reason she was accused for treason. A couple of years later she spoke to the people on behalf of Martin L. King.

She adopted a lot of children from around the world after WOII. Twelve to be exact. She had to build a big house to live in. She called it “a World Village” It was her way to show the leaders of the world that we can all live side byside and live happily after after. To finance this she had to show her dancing skills even more.

She became famous in Paris in the mid twenties with her erotic dance act. She presented herself on stage almost nude. She traveld all over europe but returned back to france with a Banana Dance act. She had this sexy banana outfit made of bananas. I think she saw girls dancing in Hawai in a Hula outfit. She made it her own by making plastic bananas around her string. I think she wants to hide her banana split, haha. Its deffenitly the most “a peeling” dance I ever saw in my life.

People are not going to Paris to take a dive in a swimmingpool. But to take swim when its 40 degrees, hell yeah. This is a floating swimmingpool at the edge of the Seine. Its open so you can brown yourself like Josephine Baker herself. It has a roof made out of glass. You can steam, lay down in a jacuzzi and rooms with fittnesequipment.
